General Motors and Stellantis are the main customers of Aixin, with revenue from these two car companies accounting for approximately 15% of Aixin's total revenue.
According to foreign media reports, Scott Turpin, CEO of Aisin, a large Japanese automotive parts manufacturer, expressed concern that the strike launched by the United Auto Workers (UAW) against Detroit's three major automakers could have a broader impact on the entire automotive industry.
Turpin said on September 13th, "We will be directly affected. If they (automakers) want to shut down or suspend production facilities, it is clear that we will also reduce shipments." The automakers he mentioned include General Motors and Stellantis.
UAW has threatened to organize strikes among employees of General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis if an agreement on a new four-year labor contract cannot be reached with the automaker before 11:59 pm local time on September 14th. Coordinated strikes marked the first simultaneous shutdown of three Detroit automakers and one of the largest industrial labor actions in the United States in recent years.
